Andrew JW Macarthur
President

Academic Qualifications: AdDipAg, MBA (Bond University), FAICD

Andrew Macarthur and his family are the owners of the Plasvacc group of companies (including Veterinary Immunogenics), with headquarters in the UK, Australia, USA, and Chile. He holds the position of Chief Executive Officer with our UK, Australia, and Chile companies, and is president of Plasvacc USA. Under his leadership, Plasvacc has grown to now have production operations in 3 countries and exports to 15. Mr. Macarthur has extensive management and consultancy experience in the area of agribusiness. He owns and oversees several rural properties and is a respected cattle & horse breeder.

Mr. Macarthur previously held the position of general manager of pastoral operations at Stanbroke Pastoral Company, Australia’s largest pastoral company, which is recognised as being at the forefront of livestock research.

Mr. Macarthur is Chairman of the board of Globe Management Group Pty Ltd, an asset management company, plus a number of private companies across a wide range of industry sectors. Mr. Macarthur holds a Masters of Business Administration from Bond University.

Heather originally joined our team in 1998 as a trainee Pheresis Technician. Heather’s unwavering commitment to her work and interest in growing with the company has earned her various positions at Plasvacc, including Production Manager, Business Manager, and her current title as Vice President. With a great affinity for animals and an impressive understanding of the equine industry, Heather’s drive, loyalty, and adaptability all contribute to her strong leadership presence.

Heather manages staff recruitment, training, and compliance. Her efforts ensure that everyone on our team is equipped with exceptional knowledge to grow and excel in their roles. Having been with us for over 20 years, Heather has contributed to many company achievements, including broadening our services to new animal species and establishing international headquarters on 3 different continents. She looks forward to accomplishing future milestones with Plasvacc and watching our global companies continue to expand around the world. Outside of work, Heather enjoys relaxing at home, reading, traveling, and trying out new craft breweries.

Jamie Puebla
Accounting Manager

Academic Qualifications: AA Accounting, American River College; AS Business Administration, Cuesta College

Jamie started working with Plasvacc in 2022. With over 15 years of accounting experience, Jamie is extremely familiar with the many intricacies of managing finances. Her attention to detail, curiosity, and precision are all attributes that make her so successful and celebrated here at Plasvacc.

Jamie oversees all of our daily accounting activities, including budgets, inventory, and client/customer relations. An enthusiastic problem solver, Jamie loves strategizing new solutions to help us maintain a highly organized finance management system. Outside of work, Jamie loves to spend quality time with her family, including her dogs! She especially enjoys fishing, camping, exploring new places, and relaxing with a good book.

LINDSEY FELIZ Senior Pheresing Technician - Plasvacc USA
Lindsey Feliz
Production Manager

Academic Qualifications: High School Diploma; Atascadero High School

Lindsey originally joined Plasvacc in 2005 as a Pheresis Technician. Her love and passion for helping animals are what initially drew her to this role and what has fueled her progression into her current position as Production Manager.

Lindsey oversees the Pheresis Technician Team and our Donor Herd. She is responsible for ensuring our donors are carefully tended to not only during the collection process but in their day-to-day life at our ranch in Templeton, CA. Lindsey’s attentiveness, care, and warmth are undeniably evident in her contributions to her role and her team. When not at work, Lindsey enjoys exploring her favorite beach, Montaña de Oro. She also loves spending time with her family and playing indoor soccer.

Inside Sales Representative

Academic Qualifications: B.S. Animal Science, Minor in Agribusiness, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo

A native of Escondido, CA, Tori joined our team in 2022 after graduating from Cal Poly and loves getting to learn something new every day while making a difference in the veterinary community. As Inside Sales Representative, she keeps our clients and distributors up to speed on our products, provides order assistance and product education, and is always on the lookout for the latest news in our industry. She also manages sales for Plasvacc Veterinary Blood Bank and is the liaison for our blood bank team in Texas.

Passionate and ambitious, after only a short time on the job, Tori is leading webinars, attending conferences, and personally visiting clients to deliver orders and find out how our products are working for them. Outside of work, you can find her working out at the gym, playing guitar, spending time with friends and family, or—August through February—intently watching and rooting for the Chargers.

Dr. Ed Hamer
Veterinary Technical Information & Product Support – Equine

Ed received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1990. During his studies he was heavily involved in equine medicine and surgery. Ed was employed by the Ohio State Racing Commission and worked as a laboratory technician for two years during veterinary school.

Upon graduation he completed an equine internship at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in Los Olivos, California. Since then, he has practiced in the Santa Ynez Valley of California for the last 24 years. His practice includes lameness in thoroughbred racehorses and a variety of performance horses including western and polo.

Ed is also heavily involved in broodmare practice during the breeding season, including neonatal care and foal medicine and surgery. Over the past ten years, Ed has been responsible for the breeding of 300-500 mares each year on various farms in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley in Central California.

Dr. Ryan Cate
Veterinary Technical Information & Product Support – Canine

Dr. Ryan Cate grew up in Boyd, Texas and attended Weatherford College where he obtained an Associate Degree in Agricultural Science. He continued his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets (Thunderbird 3) and graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in Animal Science. He was awarded his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in May 2009.

After graduating with his doctorate, Dr. Cate completed an Equine Medicine and Surgery internship at Lonestar Park Equine Hospital in Grand Prairie, TX under the guidance of Dr. Wes Williams.

Upon completing his internship, Dr. Cate moved to Grenada where he was a faculty member at St. George’s University when the College of Veterinary Medicine was awarded full AVMA Accreditation in September 2011.

Dr. Cate owns Riverstone Veterinary Group, and serves as our canine specialist.
