Purity & Safety
Equine plasma and red cells are harvested using the same stringent controls and pheresing equipment as is used in the collection of human blood products. Our facility is VMD-licensed (Veterinary Medicines Directorate) and all operations are monitored by our strict quality assurance system. The system utilizes a completely closed collection method, which ensures freedom from outside contamination.
No preservatives are added to any of our products. The anticoagulant used during plasma collection is sodium citrate ACD-A. Plasma is frozen immediately after collection and stored between -20 to -30 degrees Celsius until sold. Protein levels are monitored regularly during the pheresing procedure. Safety and sterility tests are performed on every batch of plasma, as well as Immunoglobulin quantification.
