Canine Plasma Products
Caniplas® fresh frozen plasma for dogs is a blood product intended for clinical transfusion in dogs. The Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) and the New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) restricts this drug to be used by or on the order of a registered veterinarian.
Caniplas®
Caniplas® may aid in the treatment of a wide variety of canine illnesses, protecting dogs against the depletion of blood clotting factors and the onset of potentially fatal infection.
Caniplas® is rich in gamma globulins and is collected from hyperimmunised donor dogs that reside at the Plasvacc production facility in Queensland, Australia.
Caniplas® can be used to supplement the immune response system of dogs and has been seen to be a highly effective treatment for a wide variety of canine illnesses and infections, including Pancreatitis, Coagulopathies, Parvovirus infection and Failure of Passive Transfer in puppies.
Plasma transfusions can also be used in cases of major tissue damage, such as injuries sustained during motor vehicle accidents or during the performance of major surgery (for example, amputation). In these instances, Caniplas® transfusions can protect the dog against the depletion of blood clotting factors and the onset of potentially fatal infection. When used to complement conventional veterinary treatments, Caniplas® may shorten the course of treatments, reduce hospitalisation periods and lessen the quantity of drugs required to restore your dog’s health.
Caniplas® E
Caniplas E is used as an aid in the treatment of dogs with endotoxaemia. Conditions that may result in endotoxaemia include: enteritis, sepsis, pneumonia, trauma, burns and pyometra. Caniplas E can also be used to improve the survival rates in dogs with canine parvoviral gastroenteritis when used as an adjunct to traditional therapy. Caniplas E is supplied under APVMA (Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority) permit.
