Collection Process

We provide cell-free, single-source, 100% traceable, hyperimmunised plasma that is never blended. Because safety and efficacy come first, we prefer collection from a single rigorously screened donor. It ensures traceability and reduces the risk of adverse reactions.

The process of extracting bulk plasma from donors is a complex one, relying on state-of the-art technology and expertise. Our Pheresis Technicians are professionals whose lives and work reflect our values of compassion and responsibility. Our camel, canine and equine donor’s comfort and positive interactions are always a priority. Every donor animal is carefully screened. All fluids are replaced during the process, so the camel, canine and equine donors can return to their pack or herd setting after donating.

Plasma is collected when uncoagulated blood is allowed to settle, or is centrifuged, allowing its key constituents to separate. There are 8 key steps to the Plasvacc process of plasma collection:

  1. Donor preparation
  2. Blood sample collection
  3. Analysis and testing
  4. Centrifugal separation
  5. Plasma collection
  6. Return of cells to donor
  7. Freezing & storage
  8. Distribution

Plasvacc products contain no preservatives and are not pasteurised. Our products are 100% natural and are registered with both the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) and the New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA).
