VISIT FOR 'HOW TO' GUIDES >> Equiplas is Plasvacc's APVMA (Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority) and NZFSA (New Zealand Food Safety Authority) registered equine plasma product. Rich in gamma globulins, Equiplas is collected from hyperimmunised donor horses that reside at the Plasvacc plasma production facility, the only facility of its kind in Australia. Equiplas is used to supplement the immune response system of horses and is a highly effective treatment for Failure of Passive Transfer (FPT) and Partial Failure of Passive Transfer (PFPT) in foals. Equiplas can also be used to great effect as a supportive therapy for a range of conditions such as diarrhoea, colitis, renal conditions and other active infections.Quality Control
Plasvacc is the only APVMA and NZFSA registered plasma production facility in Australia and, in accordance with APVMA and NZFSA protocols, our quality standards are subject to intense scrutiny. Every batch of plasma undergoes extensive quality control checks. These quality checks span a three month period and ensure that each batch of Equiplas is disease-free, free of all blood cells and contains a concentration of gamma-globulins 2-3 times higher than that of normal horses. Equiplas is the only hyperimmunised equine plasma product in Australia that can guarantee high and uniform gamma globulin concentrations in each treatment unit. Every one-litre treatment unit of Equiplas will contain a minimum of 22g of gamma-globulins, sometimes much more.Donor Health
Plasvacc's donor horses are universal donors, a status which ensures the plasma they donate is compatible with all equine breeds. Donors undergo a strict hyperimmunisation regime and are tested to ensure they are free of agglutinins and haemolysins against 32 of the main antigens in blood groups A, C, D, K, P,Q and U. Our donors are also tested for:- EIA
- EVA
- Equine Mobillivirus
- Equine Herpes Virus types I and IV
- Ross River Fever
- Equine Babesiosis
